The aviation management program is designed for students who are seeking careers in airline management, airport management, or air traffic control. Students in this curriculum study aircraft systems, principles of flight, and basic aircraft science. They also take courses in air traffic control, aviation law, airport management, and air transportation, in addition to a number of general education courses.
Graduates of the first two years of the aviation management program receive an associate of science degree and are qualified to assist in the operation of airlines, airports, and airport service industries. The plan of study below is current for students entering AM in August 2007 or later. Others should see their academic advisors for details.

Upon completion of the first two years of this program, an associate of science degree in aviation management is awarded. Graduates of the AS degree program in aviation management who wish to pursue a bachelor of science degree will receive additional specialized instruction in accounting, supervision, and economics.
The management option is designed for students seeking a career in airline management, airport management, or air traffic control.

APPROVED SELECTIVE COURSES
The English selective (semester 1) may be completed with ENGL 106 or 108. The English selective (Semester 5) may be completed with ENGL 304, 309, 420, or 421.
The Technical Communications selective (Semester 8) may be completed with any of the following courses: COM 315, COM 320, COM 324, COM 412, or COM 415.
APPROVED AVIATION TECHNOLOGY SELECTIVE COURSE AREAS
All BS degree students must choose one of two available aviation management focus areas, and AT Selective courses (15 credit hours minimum) must come from the focus area selected. Capstone course selection (Semester 8) is based on focus area selection. Students in the airline management focus area must take AT 438. Students in the airport management focus area must take AT 451.

Complete 4 consecutively sequenced foreign language courses in 1 language plus 1 foreign language (ex. FR 101, 102, 201, 202) plus 1 foreign language elective (literature, conversation, level V language, etc.) from the same or a different language. Students who test out of Levels I, II, and/or III of a language may subtitute free electives for each course they test out of; such students must satisfactorily complete the Level IV and the language elective courses.
OR
Complete AT 144, 145, 210, 211, 243, 245, 248, 249, 253 and 254. An FAA commercial/instrument pilot certificate may be presented to establish credit in these courses. Students will be awarded credit using AT 462, Occupational Cert. and Licensure. Such credit will most likely NOT transfer to another institution.

AVIATION MANAGEMENT GLOBALIZATION REQUIREMENT
Due to the international nature of the aviation industry, all aviation management BS degree students must complete a globalization requirement using any ONE of the following seven methods:
- Complete a study abroad term
- Complete an internship outside the U.S.
- Complete an AT-sponsored study trip (AT 452 & 453)
- Provide documentation of having lived/traveled outside the U.S. for at least 90 days after a student's 12 th birthday (does not have to be consecutive)
- Complete one of the following courses: COM 224, 303, 424; ECON 368, 370; HTM 372; AGRY 350; CSR 332; OLS 456; POL 130; SOC 338, 341
- Complete or place out of the Level IV course in any foreign language.
- Participate in an approved international research project that involves at least 5 days of international travel.
