Dennis R. Short is a Professor of Computer Graphics Technology in the School of Technology at Purdue's main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. He received his B.A. and M.S. Ed from Purdue. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in advanced animation, interactive game design and development, digital video and audio non-linear editing and digital postproduction including compositing for film and video.
Dennis is a Co-Director of the Purdue International Center for Entertainment Technology (PICET), which is a new University Level Interdisciplinary Research Center (http://www.picet.org/). He is also a Director of the International Society for Geometry and Graphics and was the Western-Hemisphere Chair of the Krakow Conference in 1996 and was a Co-Chair of the ISGG Conference at Austin in 1998. Dennis was a visiting scholar at the School of Civil Engineering in Fukuoka, Japan in 1983 and has co-authored a number of joint research papers with his Japanese colleagues including two publications and one book chapter in Japanese. Dennis has also co-authored or edited books on WWW design and development, Engineering Drawing and Design, Digital Video, and CAD. He is also a member of the International Game Developers Association, ACM SIGGRAPH, SMPTE, and the Japan Society for Graphic Science.
