Rakita is a PhD candidate at MET Department. His dissertation research is on effects of ultrasonic field on solidification and microstructures. His industrial experience at Purdue includes 37 projects in areas of mechanical engineering and manufacturing completed for various Indiana-based companies.

Spencer has collaborated with various members of staff at Purdue University in the creation of websites, content development, database design, file transfer, and logo design.

His industrial experience includes positions both at General Electric and American Axle and Manufacturing. His roles included lean manufacturing, production supervision, and quality. His main focus toward graduation is alternative energies, fuel efficiences, and green technologies.
