John H. Mott
Professor Mott is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Aviation technology and the Academic Program Coordinator for the Indianapolis campus. He received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama. He has an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument and Multiengine ratings, an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single-and Multiengine and Instrument ratings, and an FAA Ground Instructor Certificate with Advanced and Instrument ratings. He also holds type ratings in the Hawker Beech King Air 300, Hawker HS-125, and Canadair Challenger 600. He has worked as a flight instructor, a charter pilot, chief pilot, and director of training for a FAR 135 operator, an airline pilot flying the SA-226TC Metroliner, and a corporate pilot in many different models of aircraft.
Professor Mott's research interests are in the areas of statistical modeling of flight and airport operations, application of innovative electronics technology to flight operations and aircraft design, aviation management, aviation safety, aviation meteorology, and human factors. Prior to coming to Purdue, he was Engineering Manager for a firm in Birmingham, Alabama, and also operated an electronics design and manufacturing business for many years. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the University Aviation Association (UAA), and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He resides in Indianapolis with his wife, daughter and son.

Henry R. Lehrer, Ph.D.
Hank Lehrer is an Ohioan with 16 years teaching service as a high school teacher. He also has over 27 years of collegiate faculty experience at Bowling Green State University, OH, Southern Illinois University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, Parks College of Saint Louis University, and has been a faculty member at the Aviation Institute at University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) at the rank of Professor and Graduate Fellow. Dr. Lehrer retired from full-time teaching at the end of the Spring 2003 academic semester but still consults with several aviation-related enterprises.
A graduate of Ohio University, Kent State University, and Bowling Green State University, Dr. Lehrer, still an active flight instructor with over 3,000 hours of flight instruction given, holds an ATP with Citation type rating. He has flown a variety of corporate aircraft, has experience as an FAR 141 Chief Flight Instructor, and was employed by FlightSafety in Toledo with the Cessna Citation program. Lehrer has numerous journal articles, book chapters, editorships, presentations, and consultancies to his credit and he led a Native American Outreach project at UNO that focused on improving the mathematics and science skills among students at schools on Nebraska’s Indian reservations.
He has been a Visiting Professor for off-campus courses for Southern Illinois University (SIU) for over 24 years having taught courses at all the aviation locations. Lehrer has also taught independent study for Health Care Management (HCM), Electronics System Technology (EST), and in Fire Service Management (FSM). Dr. Lehrer has also served as the Academic Coordinator and cohort coach with the Daniel Webster College (DWC) MBA-AP program. An avid golfer and still a working jazz and classical woodwind musician, he and his wife Lynne are the proud grandparents of 7 grandchildren. The Lehrers currently reside in the Toledo, OH area.
Martin Rielage
Mr. Rielage holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from University of Cincinnati and a MBA from Lewis University. He also has 17 years experience as a safety inspector with the Federal Aviation Administration, FAA. Mr. Rielage has been sharing his knowledge and experience with university students since 1996.

Michael Rosemark
Mr. Rosemark holds a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston Texas and is a graduate of the United States Air Force Air War College. He has over 30 years experience as a meteorologist specializing in aviation weather forecasting. Mr. Rosemark has held a number of operational and supervisory positions in the United States Air Force and National Weather Service most recently as Meteorologist In Charge of the Indianapolis Center Weather Service Unit.

Richard Whitman
Richard T. Whitman is a Limited Term Lecturer in Homeland Security subjects for Purdue University. He is a native of Pennsylvania, attended Villanova University as a Biology major and West Chester University to complete a Master’s in Physical Science. He is a graduate of the Army and Naval War Colleges and the National Defense University where he studied strategic planning. Mr. Whitman had a three decade federal civilian career specializing in Health Physics (Radiation Program Management) for the military and the Veterans Administration before accepting a position with the US Customs in 2000 at the National Safety Office in Indianapolis, IN. While with Customs he oversaw the implementation of a national scanning and detection modalities for WMD. He retired from US Customs and Border Protection in 2008 but was recalled back to Regular Army as a Colonel with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. He was the Officer in Charge and Test Scientist at the Nevada Test Site until June 2009. Mr. Whitman returned to Indiana in 2009 where he provides Homeland Security and WMD advice to several agencies and teaches for the Purdue Aviation Technology Center. He has received the Commissioner of Customs Award, the Legion of Merit and the Indiana Governor’s Sagamore of the Wabash for his service.

LeRoy York
Mr. York holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts – Boston and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Management with a Safety Specialization from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is the holder of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single - Multiengine and Instrument ratings. Mr. York has worked in the aviation industry as an Airframe - Powerplant mechanic and manager over his 48 year career. He has been sharing his knowledge and experience with university students since 2000.
