CoT TLF Ambassadors
Hello CoT at Lafayette Students. My name is Michael Shirley, Spring 2013 Purdue College of Technology at Lafayette Ambassador President. I am honored to be elected to this position by my peers and excited for this opportunity to share how the College of Technology at Lafayette can make a difference in your life. I am also eager to inform you of some upcoming opportunities my fellow Ambassadors and I are planning to serve our academic and surrounding communities.
Purdue CoT at Lafayette was created with your educational needs in mind. If you are looking for a higher education program from a university with worldwide recognition, one that will consistently challenge you personally and academically, and in the end help propel your career, you are in the right spot. CoT at Lafayette offers certificates and undergraduate degrees in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. Programs designed with the working adult in mind with classes during the daytime, evening, and online as well.
If you have been with CoT at Lafayette for a while, you will have realized just how difficult a juggling act it can be between work, school and family life. You also know just how important and beneficial your current educational challenges are to your future and why you stretch yourself so thin to meet all of these daily demands. If this describes you, the Ambassador program is a place to try something different than the traditional classroom structure and showcase all of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that you have gathered from the countless hours in the classrooms. This program will also allow you to share your new talents with students that have not been at CoT as long and may need guidance towards successful attainment of their degrees as well. This program will also allow you to give back to the community through application of your skills at service organizations in and around Greater Lafayette.
This semester the Ambassadors plan to hold several student appreciation events, coordinate recruitment events for the CoT, plan and coordinate graduation ceremonies (A big thank you from myself and the others graduating this semester!), and working with the Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette ReStore on fundraising to help this worthwhile organization. Most importantly though, the Ambassadors are there to help the rest of the CoT students in any way needed by acting as a liaison with the college and giving general advice, so feel free to approach any of the Ambassadors with any issues that you may be experiencing as they are your representatives.
Finally, no matter what you reasons are for attending the Cot at Lafayette, or thinking about enrolling at the CoT, I feel that it is the right place to get the world class education in an environment that takes the students’ needs in to account and really cares about your success. I encourage you to read through the information on our website and/or contact a friendly staff member or Student Ambassador to help with any questions to get you started!
Thank you for the opportunity to share a little about our College of Technology in the Lafayette community and the Ambassador program. I look forward to seeing you in class and around campus. Boiler Up!
Sincerely,
Michael E. Shirley
