The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position at its West Lafayette, Indiana Campus in the area of Technology for Life/Health Sciences. A successful candidate for this position will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish collaborative, externally-funded research or industrial projects, maintain an active scholarship agenda, develop curricular materials and laboratory experiences, and promote the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs through national/international engagement. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in relevant Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline. Relevant industrial experience, prior teaching experience and professional registration are highly desirable. Technology for Life/Health Sciences Faculty Position

This will become a new strategic area for MET and a true champion is needed. The vision for this position is to address the important area of use-inspired technologies to improve the lives of our aging population and returning veterans from recent wars, which is consistent with the mission of the college and department, in addressing the technological needs of the society. Candidates with diverse background and experience who have demonstrated interest and capability with the vision for this position will be considered. This position requires strong interest in applied research, and willingness in collaboration with other colleges within the university and industry. A successful candidate for this tenure-track position will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish collaborative, externally-funded research, maintain an active scholarship agenda, develop curricular materials and laboratory experiences, and promote the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology programs through both national and international engagement. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in relevant Engineering, or Engineering Technology or closely related discipline. The College of Technology has 3400 undergraduate students and over 450 graduate students in its seven departments. It is the 4th largest college out of 10 at Purdue University with nationally recognized programs of study with up-to-date laboratories and facilities. The college is expanding into emerging areas of technology that will have societal relevance. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in fields, such as technology, engineering, computer science, science, management, or education. Candidates must be successful in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and the ability or potential to establish an independent research program.
