Mechanical Engineering Technology prepares students for a broad range of technical positions throughout manufacturing enterprises that require people with strong mechanically oriented backgrounds.

MET . . . .

  • Educates specialists who work with manufacturing and machinery.
  • Develops industrial leaders who manage people, machines, and production resources.
  • Trains technicians and technologists who plan the production process and design or modify a product for a specific application.

MET Students . . . .

  • Solve mechanical problems.
  • Work with their minds as well as their hands.
  • Enjoy math and science.
  • Are job-ready after two-years of full-time study and can elect to continue their education for another two years to earn the B. S. degree.

Manufacturing Engineering Technology (formerly CIMT)

Manufacturing Engineering Technology focuses on automated manufacturing and materials handling using computers to design and manufacture products or in process and quality control. Manufacturing Engineering Technology students learn to take individual islands of manufacturing automation and link them together to achieve the ultimate efficiency of an organization’s manufacturing resources.
