2013 Alumni Awards, part of Tech Week

Fourteen alumni will be honored in 2013 as Distinguished Technology Alumni (5), Outstanding Technology Alumni (4) and Early Career Award (5) recipients. Award recipients will be honored on campus Friday, March 1.

Two professors chosen for secondary study fellowship

Bedrich Benes, Ph.D., associate professor of computer graphics technology, and Chien-tsung Lu, Ph.D., associate professor of aviation technology, are two of five Purdue professors chosen for a Faculty Fellowship for Study in a Second Discipline for the 2013-2014 academic year.

In the News: supersonic ping-pong balls

Mark French, associate professor of mechanical engineering technology, and two of his Ph.D. students have created a supersonic Ping-Pong gun that can shoot a Ping-Pong ball at Mach 1.2 (about 915 miles per hour).

Purdue University’s engineering/technology teacher education program within the College of Technology was named the nation’s outstanding program in 2012 by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).
