OLS, IT to merge effective July 1, 2011

Two College of Technology departments have been approved for merger
and have begun the integration process to be finalized on July 1.
The departments of Organizational Leadership and Supervision and
Industrial Technology will combine faculty, students, and majors to
establish the largest department within the college, the Department of
Technology Leadership and Innovation. The new department will have
nearly 40 faculty members and approximately 700 majors and 1,500 minors
in West Lafayette, 500 majors in Statewide Technology, and 200 graduate
students.

5th annual Tech Week planned for April 9-15, 2011
The College of Technology will celebrate its fifth annual Technology
Week April 9-15 with the theme “We are Technology Makers.” The week is
filled with a variety of activities to showcase how the college's
faculty, students and alumni are having an impact on society.

Distinguished Technology Alumni awards ceremony and banquet Friday,

Air TIES, a CoT center for alternative fuels, approved
|
Richard Buckius, vice president for research, has approved the Air
Transport Institute for Environmental Sustainability (Air TIES) to be
listed as an official Purdue center. It will be housed at the Purdue Airport.

create a Technology Innovation Initiative. The short online survey will
