Global challenges, global opportunities

The CoT Strategic Plan Meeting Global Challenges implementation team has begun the process
of establishing metrics to gauge student and faculty involvement in
global activities and are working on ways to gather data consistently
and accurately across the college. An initial 11-page report offers just
a glimpse into how faculty and students have been involved globally
since 2008. We sat down with Don Buskirk, co-chair of the team, to learn about how
his team is working on this component of the strategic plan.

Getting to know Brandeis Marshall
Brandeis Marshall, assistant professor of computer and information technology, has been at Purdue since January of 2007. She joined the faculty of the College of Technology after about 18 months at Purdue’s CyberCenter. Marshall earned her master’s and doctoral degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Statewide enrollment
|
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the first time, more than half of those enrolled in Purdue University's Statewide Technology program this semester are full-time students.

Students give back during annual food drive
College of Technology students in West Lafayette and at the Lafayette location collected 2,481 pounds of food and personal care items for the college's second annual food drive, surpassing the goal of 1,000 pounds.

Holiday recognition reception for Dean Depew Dec. 17
The associate deans of the College of Technology are hosting a holiday
recognition reception in honor of Dean Dennis Depew, who will step down
as dean and return as a full-time professor at the end of this academic
year.

MET Student Receives AFS Southwestern Ohio Scholarship
Justin Norris, a senior mechanical engineering technology major, won an AFS scholarship at the FEF College Industry Conference recently held in Chicago. He was one of 21 students from universities around the country who won an award.
