Brian Seward was selected to receive the 2009 College of Technology Student Leader Award. He will be a junior in manufacturing engineering technology (MfET) this fall.
During his first two years on campus, Seward worked to restart a student council in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET). He worked with the Office of the Dean of Students to establish the new council, which includes students from MET and MfET. For the 2009-10 academic year, he will serve as past president of the organization to help develop additional student leaders so that the council will remain active in the future.
Department administrators have also identified him as a “go to” student at times when they need student input or participation.
Seward received a plaque during a special ceremony this spring. In addition, the MET Student Council will receive $200 for a community service project.
