CoT student and employee host gaming marathon for charity

OLS senior Brian Brinegar, TCN network administrator John Groth, and Purdue alumnus and employee Chris Deckard joined together to host the second annual Mario Marathon benefiting Child's Play Charity. The charity provides toys, games, and books to patients of children's hospitals worldwide.

For 96 straight hours during the second week of July, the three gamers played seven different games in front of a far-flung Internet audience. The event attracted nearly 1,400 donors and raised more than $29,000.

In 2008, the inaugural event lasted 57 hours and raised almost $12,000.
