BCM student Bryan Morris leads the final leg of the Oaken Bucket Relay to deliver the game ball to Coach Danny Hope.

The Old Oaken Bucket football game ball made a 110-mile trip from Bloomington to West Lafayette Nov. 27, courtesy of the Purdue Veterans Organization and ROTC students from Purdue and Indiana universities.

Bryan Morris, a student in the Department of Building Construction Management, and Stephen Schmid, a student in the Department of Aviation Technology, were organizers of the game-day ball relay. The event raised money for Operation Bedding. The organization provides comforts of home to military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The event brought in $1,100 in cash donations, Morris said. They are still waiting for final numbers for online donations.

Tony Clevinger, an aviation technology major, also participated in the run.
