From the Department Head

Welcome back as we embark on the New Year and another semester. I am pleased to write to you as we relaunch the MET newsletter in an entirely electronic format.

The MET department continues to provide one of the best Mechanical Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology undergraduate programs in the country. Our students continue to shine in a number of arenas and make us all proud.

Fall semester of 2010 saw a large freshman class of nearly 100 in our two degree programs, and our graduate program continues a healthy growth. In fact, we just received approval to launch our five-year combined bachelor's and master's degree program in MET for select students. We have more interesting and exciting news about our faculty and students, so please read on.

This first edition of the MET newsletter is a beginning for us to reach out more directly and frequently to our students, industry partners, alumni and friends. Please share with us your news, as well as suggestions or feedback. We would love to hear from you!
