Fuehne presents papers at IMECE

Joe Fuehne, associate professor of mechanical engineering technology in Columbus, recently presented four papers at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) in Vancouver, British Columbia.

One of the papers was co-authored by Julie Phillips, associate professor of organizational leadership and supervision in Columbus, and Anji McKinney, student services coordinator in Columbus. It detailed the efforts to organize and conduct the first Boiler Tech Challenge for high school Project Lead the Way students in southeastern Indiana. The paper was titled, “The Boiler Tech Challenge: A Fun Competition and Recruiting Tool for Engineering Technology Programs.”

A second paper, “Developing a System Approach for the Engineering Technology Classroom,” was co-authored by Martin Stockmann and David Webb of Siemens Technik Academie in Berlin, Germany.

Fuehne was the sole author of the other two papers: “Virtual Lab Activities for a Distance Course in Fluid Power” and “Integrating Mechatronics into an Engineering Technology Curriculum.”
