Solar Decathlon team travels to Florida; unveils video tour of home

Members from Purdue’s 2011 Solar Decathlon team traveled to Orlando, Fla., recently to attend the NAHB International Builders Show.

While there, the team met with representatives from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy to discuss their house design in relation to the rules and restrictions of the competition.

They also participated in the show’s Green Day January 13. Members from all 20 participating teams were there to answer questions about their entries in the competition.

With the assistance of Ray Hassan, clinical assistant professor of computer graphics technology, and his students, the team has created an animated tour of their home as part of the competition requirements. Watch it here:
