Study abroad trip to Germany led by Professor Kraebber

A group of 15 students from the College of Technology traveled to Germany to tour several manufacturing companies and to learn about the German culture. This trip has proven to be an important first step for many of the participants with little or no overseas travel experience.

To date 106 students have had the opportunity to participate in manufacturing focused trips to Germany led by Professor Henry Kraebber in MET. The course design continued a three-credit format that allowed the faculty and students more dedicated time to meet and prepare for the trip, as well as time to debrief and prepare summary reports on the learning that took place.

The highlight of this course is a nine-day trip to Germany during Spring Break. Student participants fly to Germany for a series of group meetings, plant tours and cultural opportunities in the Munich area. Students meet with faculty and students of the Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS) during the visit, including a meeting with leaders of the Formula Race Car teams (gas and electric) of the MUAS.
