Eight faculty promotions approved

Purdue University's board of trustees approved faculty promotions during their meeting April 8.

The following promotions are effective with the 2011-12 academic year:

Full professor

  • Patrick E. Connolly, professor of computer graphics technology
  • Qingyou Han, professor of mechanical engineering technology
  • Rodney G. Handy, professor of mechanical engineering technology
  • William J. Hutzel, professor of mechanical engineering technology
  • Yi Jiang, professor of building construction management

Associate professor

  • Thomas J. Hacker, associate professor of computer and information technology
  • Gregory C. Lasker, associate professor of building construction management
  • John A. Springer, associate professor of computer and information technology
