The College of Technology in Columbus hosted 200 students from eight high schools April 15 during the second annual Boiler Tech Challenge (BTC).
With the theme "Ride of Your Life", student teams were asked to complete a number of amusement park-themed tasks to test their creativity and engineering knowledge. The five tasks were related to the degree programs offered at the Columbus location.
Most of the students who participated are enrolled in Project Lead the Way classes.
Keynote speakers were Pat Koch, owner and park matriarch, and Mike Kamp, general manager of guest services, from Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari.
Columbus East High School was named the overall champion for the second year.
