Nominate students for EMV conference
Organizers of the 21st annual Emily Mauzy Vogel Sophomore Leadership Development Conference (EMV) are seeking nominations for the September 9-10, 2011, event.
Sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students, this conference is an intensive overnight program involving team-building, personality inventories, personal leadership development, and networking. University faculty and staff as well as successful leaders and national speakers from outside the Purdue community will be presenting on a variety of topics.
In the past, programs included topics such as diversity, problem solving, ethics, and student leadership at Purdue. This conference has played an instrumental role in the personal growth of many young leaders and subsequently their involvement on campus.
Nominees must be outstanding students who will be sophomores in the fall and possess strong leadership potential. Submit nomiations online (this is part of the Get Involved site, and you must log in with your career account information to access the nomination materials). Individuals can submit multiple nominations; nominations must contain the student’s name and e-mail address and be submitted by Friday, May 20, 2011.
The conference is made possible by a generous gift for leadership development from the late Robert and Ruth Mauzy, Purdue alumni. Their generous contribution is in honor of their late daughter and Purdue alumna, Emily Mauzy Vogel.
