The College of Technology communications office has created a web site to host a variety of blogs that will highlight our people and programs. We will have three initial blogs managed by our office, but are looking to create additional blogs from the perspective of faculty, staff and students.
Ideally, blogs by faculty and staff will touch on topics relevant to the college, current issues in technology, what's going on in our classroom and labs, etc. These will offer a great avenue to connect with alumni, prospective and current students, donors, industry leaders and a variety of audiences interested in the college and technology issues.
- Laboratory directors: What does that robot do? Will it break if I push the red button? What’s the hot topic around the watercooler? Are you ready to blog yet?
- Faculty research: What are the current news topics in your area of research? What’s the status of your project? Latest findings? You get the idea.
- Business and industry: We’re sure there are lots of current business and industry topics that could be blogged about, but there’s only 24 hours in our day – can you help us stay up-to-date with what’s going on?
If you have an idea for a blog or are interested in learning more, send your idea to technews@purdue.edu and we’ll call you to discuss your new blog. We can set you up with the CoT template, create some users and assist with minimal training.
If you already have a blog that is hosted elsewhere, let us know that, too. We'd like to create a central repository of those on the site.
