A message from the Department Head

Dear Alumni and Industry Partners,

There is always excitement in the air when we welcome our BCM students back to campus each fall. This year we are very encouraged by the increased numbers participating in our career fair. For the first time since 2009 we had over 100 companies come to actively recruit BCM students. Nearly 500 students came out in force to enjoy our newest venue for the career fair on the concourse of Purdue's beloved Mackey Arena. We look forward to returning to the arena in the future. We all hope that this marked increase in attendance is a real sign of the markets returning to somewhat like what we experienced pre-2008.

Our fall meeting of the Construction Advisory Council was well attended and the participants were treated a small group presentation while seated in the soft seats in Mackey Arena by Purdue's legendary basketball coach, Gene Keady. Coach Keady shared his philosophy on leadership and coaching. His enthusiam and wisdom were very contagious and thought provoking.

We are very proud to share the activities BCM faculty and students. In this newsletter you will learn about our continuously growing global footprint, student organizations, award winning faculty members, and updates from alumni.

As we see the end of 2012 quickly approaching, we all look forward to the spring and the hustling sounds of construction operations in full swing once again.
