EET professor elected president of the Society for Social Implications of Technology | |

Karl Perusich, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering technology at the College of Technology in South Bend, has been elected president of the Society for Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) of the IEEE. His one-year term will start in 2010. As a society president, he will be a voting member of the Technical Activities Board of IEEE, the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology. Among other volunteer duties, he is currently treasurer of SSIT, a member of the IEEE/UN Foundation Humanitarian Technology Challenge Steering Committee, and chair of its Society Partnership Group. | |
