College of Technology Student Leadership Award

Goal:

The goal is to recognize excellent student leadership in the College of Technology.

Criteria for nomination:

  1. Nominations will be solicited from College of Technology recognized student organizations.
  2. Organization must be in good standings with the Dean of Students and the Business Office of Student Organizations.

Who is Eligible?

  1. Current College of Technology major in good academic standing.
  2. A student who shows leadership within a College of Technology student organization.
  3. Nominee must be a member of the nominating student organization.

Guidelines:

  1. All nominations will be reviewed by a committee created by the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs.
  2. The nominated applicants will be invited to a spring banquet where the recipient of the award will be announced.
  3. The winner must attend the banquet.

 Student Award:

  1. Student will be recognized with a plaque at the spring banquet.
  2. Name goes on plaque in lobby of Knoy Hall.

Student Organization Award:

  1. The nominating student organization will receive $500 on an account through the business office that can be used to fund community service projects during the next academic year.
  2. The student organization will request money for the community project of their choice
  3. The funds requested will be approved by the College of Technology selection committee.

Expected Uses of the Funds:

  1. No funds may be used to compensate the individual(s) working on the project.
  2. unds may be used for travel needed to provide the service.
  3. Funds may be used for materials and supplies necessary to complete the project.
  4. Publicity, printing, postage are allowable costs.
  5. Minimal refreshment costs may be allowed when justified as a specific activity of the service.
  6. Other items must be adequately justified in the proposal.
