About Technology Leadership & Innovation
The Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI) was approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees in February 2011. Capitalizing on the strengths of two departments, Industrial Technology and Organizational Leadership and Supervision, TLI focuses on preparing students to become leaders in a technologically robust economy and world.
Supported by innovative research, faculty and students alike will help shape solutions for this century’s global, technological, social and economic challenges.
The department, which has nearly 40 faculty members, serves approximately 700 majors in West Lafayette and 500 majors across the state as part of Purdue’s Statewide Technology program. More than 200 graduate students are enrolled in the on-campus master’s and doctoral programs and the professional weekend master’s programs.
The department offers undergraduate ATMAE and ABET accredited degrees in industrial technology, industrial distribution, and organizational leadership. The Engineering/Technology Teacher Education (ETTE) program is accredited by NCATE and is nationally recognized as outstanding by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).
Master’s and doctoral degrees are offered in all programs.
