Department:Organizational Leadership and Supervision
Senior Vice President of Global Alliances/Strategic Accounts, Troux Technologies
  • BS ’81, Purdue University

An ability to make strong business relationships and leverage opportunity has been the hallmark of Will King’s professional achievements. It’s the lifeblood of his daily work today, and it has been key to his company’s global success.

King began his career as a manufacturing engineer at Texas Instruments. Within two years he moved on to IBM to join its national account sales team. Both experiences provided a solid foundation for King to accept an opportunity with a start-up software company in 1992. As a founding member of the executive team at 360Commerce, King played a key role in growing and shaping the sales organization and helping the company grow to be a leader in the retail industry software market. In 2002, after a short stint as senior vice president at Momentum Software, King joined Troux Technologies, another start-up company that provides software to help Global 2000 enterprises better manage and align their information technology resources and investments.

King has held a variety of executive positions at Troux and helped develop and manage the company’s sales, consulting and services, and business development organizations. Troux is now a market leader in IT planning software. Currently, King has the dual focus of driving Troux’s strategic account growth along with developing and managing strategic partnerships in the United States and abroad.

While his ability to build relationships is innate, King says the College of Technology provided a strong foundation in technology principles along with concepts in general management and organization dynamics.

Travel, golf, family time and coaching youth sports take up much of King’s time away from the office. King and his wife, Kim, live in Austin, Texas, with their two children.
