BCM CODO Information

Thank you for your interest in BCM. The demand for enrollment as a BCM major currently exceeds the resource capacity to meet that demand. For this reason, the BCM department has had to limit the number of CODO's into the department during recent semesters. This limitation is based on a semester-by-semester analysis of total departmental enrollment. CODO requirements may change in the future. (Note: Construction Management programs at the regional campuses do not have the same admission requirements as the West Lafayette campus.) The following CODO qualifications and timelines will be utilized. There are two levels of CODO application qualifications. Minimum requirements for a student to CODO to BCM are as follows:

Level I - Automatic CODO's

Students that meet the following requirements will be allowed to CODO into the BCM Department at any time:

  • Have a minimum unadjusted GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Have earned a grade of "C' or better in MA 159 or equivalent or higher level Math class
  • Submit CODO papers signed by you and your current academic advisor

Level II CODO Requirements

Math 159 or equivalent (MA 151, or MA 153 and MA 154, or MA 161, or MA 165, or MA 221, or MA 223) completed with a "C" or better. You may apply if you will have this requirement finished by the end of the current semester.

Cannot be on Academic Probation

Minimum adjusted overall GPA of a 2.5 or higher (Note: Depending on enrollment, we may limit the number of CODO students and the actual GPA may have to be higher than 2.5.

Have the CODO papers (both copies signed by you and your current academic advisor) turned in to the BCM department by the last day of the semester. CODO applications are accepted only during the fall and spring semesters, not during the summer.

CODO Procedures

  • Sign up to attend a BCM CODO meeting or meet with a BCM academic advisor.
  • Go to Room 45 of Hovde Hall to pick up your CODO papers (take a picture ID with you)
  • You and your current academic advisor need to sign your CODO papers
  • Bring both copies of your signed CODO papers with you to the CODO meeting
  • Your current academic advisor will register you for classes for next semester. You may not take BCM classes higher than BCM 100 until you are in the BCM Department.
  • CODO applicants will all be notified of their CODO status after grades come out at the end of the semester.
  • CODO applicants, who are not admitted, must submit new CODO papers if they wish to be considered in subsequent semesters.
