Presented here is a sample Plan of Study for students pursuing a Building Construction Management degree at Purdue University. This document presents an overall idea of the order in which courses might be taken in a four-year plan during a student's college career.
PLEASE NOTE: The Plan of Study on this page is presented for general information only--for exact personal plans of study, each student must see his or her counselor for an accurate record of the Plan of Study that he or she received when entering the BCM program. Curriculum plans of study may change often, while the plan of study received upon entering remains the same for that entering student.
The Building Construction Management program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).

A minimum of 800 hours of construction work experience is required before graduation. Summer construction jobs, BCM internships, or BCM Co-op programs may be used to satisfy this requirement. Go to Knoy 453 for forms and INFORMATION.
Students must meet the following requirements to progress in the BCM major. Failure to meet these standards will require the student to CODO out of the BCM Department.
- BCM majors must earn a grade of "C" or better in all BCM courses and all courses that are a prerequisite to a BCM course. The "C" grade must be earned before enrolling in subsequent courses.
- BCM courses can be repeated only once.
Students that are not allowed to continue with BCM courses due to violation of the Progression Policy may make a written appeal to the Department Head of Building Construction Management if they believe there are extenuating circumstances that caused them to be dropped from the department. The appeal will be forwarded to the BCM Counseling Committee for consideration. The committee may provide one additional opportunity for the student to achieve a grade of "C" or above for the course retaken.
