Purpose of Position:
The contract administrator is responsible for reviewing all aspects, except scope, of upstream and downstream contracts for Anning-Johnson construction projects. Identifies contract concerns through a comprehensive checklist and communicates these concerns to the Project Manager and District Manager. It requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow through on all projects. To administer, direct, and oversee the construction contract review and approval process, with this most important consideration: PROTECT THE ASSETS OF ANSON INDUSTRIES INC.
Primary Job Functions:
- Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Communicates contract analysis, policy and practice to internal business teams.
- Responsibilities:
Perform thorough contract reviews and process contracts
- Manages the contract review process.
- Ensures contract review, approval and execution in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Develops and prepares contract positions and articulating the positions with supporting documentation to District Manager.
- Makes recommendation to district staff of edits, addition, deletions of contractual instruments
- Organizes and maintains contract records and files documenting contract amendments.
- May draft new contractual instruments.
- May assist district management with contract negotiations
- Interact routinely with Project Managers, District Managers, Risk Manager; President, General Counsel and customers.
- Perform dispute related analyses such as delay, impact, differing site conditions, cost and damage as well as lost productivity analyses
- Conduct contract audits
- Maintenance/periodic review of our contracts - hold harmless agreement, purchase orders, subcontract agreement
- Train, and mentor district staff in construction industry contracts and related litigation support.
- Review pre-qualifications and certificates of insurance for our subcontractors.
- Review and approval of certificates of insurance for hold harmless agreements
- Obtaining/Maintaining OCIP/CCIP policy information for all projects
Requirements
- Skilled in the analysis and preparation of construction contracts
- Preference with familiarity Fixed Price construction contracts, Time & Material construction contracts, and Cost Plus construction contracts. :
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: construction management, scheduling and schedule analysis, construction contracts administration, claims and litigation advisory services, dispute resolution, project management, and/or project controls advisory services
- Educational Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; Experience with a construction or building organization is a plus.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, and MS Project
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be resourceful
- Ability to work well under pressure

- Proactive individual with strong drive, ambition, and enthusiasm
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and exhibits a strong professional presence
- Capable of defending positions with rationale arguments
