SME Inc of Seattle (www.smeincofseattle.com), a growing, progressive electrical contractor, currently hasone opening for an electrical project manager. We are seeking an experienced candidate with at least 5 years of electrical project management experience.
We are a commercial/industrial contractor with projects located throughout the Puget Sound region. Overnight business travel is required less than 5% of the time.
As the project manager, you will have complete responsibility for the profitability and success of the projects for which you are responsible.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Work with the estimator to complete a project turnover to operations.
- Establish a cost budget for the project.
- Plan and conduct a pre-construction meeting with the estimator and site lead electrician.
- Manage the submittal process.
- Develop a relationship with the customer to ensure the project runs smoothly.
- Update cost projections for the project as necessary.
- Provide a weekly update to operations manager as to project status, problems, challenges, needs etc.
- Establish field staffing plan for the project.
- Work with customer, site superintendent and estimator to identify potential changes in the project scope.
- Establish pricing for project scope changes.
- Identify and communicate project impacts to customer.
- Pro-actively manage the project and communicate all issues to the customer immediately.
- Ensure key material delivery schedules are met.
- Ensure project stays on schedule and under budget.
- Ensure closeout documentation is sent to the customer.
- Plan and conduct the project closeout meeting with the estimator and site superintendent.
- Attend project meetings as required and as necessary.
Position requirements:
- At least 5 years of electrical project management experience on commercial construction projects.
- Field experience highly desired.
- Completion of electrical apprenticeship highly desired.
- Construction management degree highly desired.
- Must be intimately familiar with industry-standard project management methods.
- Good driving record required.
- Excellent references required.
- Pre-employment drug screen required.
