  • Creative Construction Publishing - Owner/President of company that that “Publishes Practical Books for Construction” as well as presents “Practical Seminars” and “Practical Training” for the construction industry. Seminars and book publishing as well as interactive web-based training are products of this company which began operation in 1995 and is based in West Lafayette, IN.   • Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Greeley CO, from 1984 to the present, including year-long sabbaticals in 1986-87 and 1998-99 and continuing with training activities each year. Worked in planning the field engineering methods and training the field engineers for the following projects for Hensel Phelps Construction Company: a $600 million people mover at DFW Airport, TX, a $160 million Base Realignment project at Fort Leonardwood Missouri, a $50 million naval pier and wharf in Corpus Christi, TX; the $44 million Loop 1 & 183 intersection in Austin, TX; a $5 million highway bridge in Austin, TX, and the Shamu Exhibit at Sea World in San Antonio, TX. He conducted productivity studies on the $42 million water treatment plant for the Central Arizona Project in Tucson, AZ, and on the $65 million 32-story Tabor Center and shops in Denver, CO.

    The text is unique in its ample use of illustrated step-by-step procedures which not only instruct the reader in performing the measurements; they assist the reader in communicating during the measuring process.

    An objective while creating this book was to include attributes which would encourage students to delve into the readings with interest. It is hoped the highly illustrated nature of this book has accomplished this objective.
