Graduate Programs in CGT
The Department of Computer Graphics Technology (CGT) offers the Master of Science degree with a thesis option. Students may choose courses that deal with virtual and augmented reality, product lifecycle management, and interactive media research. CGT also offers a combined MS-BS program, where a student may obtain both degrees in five years or less. A PhD is also offered in the College of Technology. Students pursuing a CoT PhD can have a related area (as well as an advisor) from CGT.
The CGT Master of Science
Each MS graduate degree plan is unique to the individual student and his/her background, experience, and degree objectives. Each degree candidate will be appointed an advisor from the graduate faculty to assist with program planning. Advisors are assigned based on a review of the candidate's application materials. Candidate requests for a specific advisor are accepted but not guaranteed. Once a candidate is admitted to the graduate program, the advisor becomes his/her most important contact person.
The CGT Master of Science plan of study requires is 28 hours of coursework and 6 hours of research credit (CGT 698). Each candidate's plan of study will ultimately be directed by their advisory committee. More information is available in the menu to the left.
Assistantships
A limited number of graduate research and teaching assistantships are available in the CGT Department. Additional appointments are available within the CoT and other Colleges at the University. Most graduate appointments are for no more than one-half time. More information is available in the menu to the left.
