Computer Graphics Technology Honors Program

The goals of the honors program in Computer Graphics Technology are to introduce, enlighten, nurture, and motivate top students about emerging technology in a unique and interesting way. Students who qualify may participate in the program their first semester at Purdue. The students need to have either a 1200 combined SAT score or an equivalent ACT score. Students may enter the program anytime through their junior year but must successfully complete at least 2 credits of Honors Program Seminar to enroll in the senior honors CGT courses. The program is one credit hour each semester in which the student participates. The seminars are a catalyst for students to propose and complete special projects in their CGT courses during the semester. The senior year will consist of the student working independently with a faculty member on a research project developed by the student. During the senior year, the student will earn three credit hours each semester. To finalize the senior program, students will have a unique opportunity to present the results of their research projects to CGT faculty and staff.

To enter the honors program during the sophomore or junior year, students must have achieved a 3.50 or greater overall grade point average at Purdue University. To remain in the Honors Program, a student must maintain a 3.5 or higher overall GPA. Students who successfully complete the senior year honors project will receive a certificate of recognition from Purdue University, be listed in the commencement program as participating in an Honors program, and a statement of achievement will be included on their academic transcript.

The credits earned in CGT 290H and CGT 490H do not fulfill elective requirements for a CGT degree.
