Computer and Information Technology (CIT)
Both an Associate Degree (two year) and a Bachelor Degree (four year) in Computer and Information Technology (CIT) are offered. These degree programs will provide students with strong technical and computer skills, a thorough understanding of business needs, and the ability to communicate effectively in a business environment. Computer and Information Technology prepares students for existing and emerging jobs and careers in the application of information systems and technology to plan, analyze, design, construct, maintain, and manage business systems.
Students can select from several specialties including:
- Systems Analysis, Design, and Integration
- Software Development and Computer Programming
- Database Management Systems
- Computer Networks

Graduates from Purdue's CIT associates and bachelor degree programs are some of the most highly sought after information technology graduates in the country. Experience in the department's state-of-the-art laboratories makes them even more marketable. CIT students learn from a hands-on lab environment through team oriented projects. Communication and problem-solving skills are also emphasized. CIT Professors offer students the best of both worlds through their years of industrial and instructional experience. Many CIT faculty members are award winning teachers and nationally and internationally published authors who are actively engaged in applied research activities with industry.
