Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology

Posting #002618-2012 Purdue University – West Lafayette Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor  

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Department (ECET) in the College of Technology at Purdue University is accepting applications for a tenure track faculty member to teach courses at the West Lafayette campus.  This position is a 10-month tenure-track appointment.  The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate scholarship in the areas of learning, discovery, and industry/professional/community engagement and actively seek sources of external funding to support these activities. A goal for this position is to establish a nationally recognized research program related to electrical power distribution systems (smart grid), power electronics, motor drives, alternative energy, and efficiency.

Qualifications: Candidates must be able to teach courses in several of the above strategic areas.  All candidates must have an earned PhD with degrees in electrical engineering/technology or a closely related field. Candidates must have at least three years of full-time, relevant industrial or basic applied research experience and excellent teaching skills. Professional registration and prior teaching experience are preferred.
