Biography:
BiographyLonnie Bentley is a Professor of Computer Technology (CIT). He also serves as the Faculty Director of Tech Ventures (www.purduetechventures.org). Tech Ventures is an on campus accelerator that provides mentorship, prototype development, and networking with key resources needed to build a startup and grow a successful business. The Goal is to launch more successful faculty and student start-ups and strong products that can be acquired by bridging the gaps between research and development and the lab and the marketplace. As Faculty Director of Tech Ventures, Professor Bentley is committed to using his faculty and entrepreneurial experiences to helping faculty and students successfully get their ideas to the marketplace. Professor Bentley is Co-Founder, Board Member, and VP of Business Development for Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems, Inc (BATS), an Indiana company based on automatic antenna aiming and tracking technology developed at Purdue. BATS has the distinction of being the fastest Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) company to get a research technology to market and generate profitable revenue. BATS also has the distinction of being the first Purdue company to be selected by the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) for appearing in the Better World Report as an example of university commercialized technology that is having an impact upon society.
