Hazar Dib Ph.D.Assistant Professor
Campus: West Lafayette Biography:
Hazar Dib, MSCE, Ph.D. received his BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering in 2002 from the University of Balamand (Lebanon) and his PhD in Building Construction Management from the University of Florida (USA) in 2007 with Emphasis on Information Sharing and Information Management. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Building Information Management in the college of Technology at Purdue University in Indiana USA. He believes that computing and technology are fundamental to the advancement of globalization of science and engineering and he works toward this goal. At Purdue University, the courses he offers focus on Building Information Management, a lifecycle approach to managing construction activities and sharing of Information using effective technologies. His research areas include the integration of 3D technologies in information modeling techniques, development of knowledge acquisition methods and strategies for examining and capturing expert design knowledge, sharing lessons learned and historical data to improve design, increase efficiency in the construction processes, and improve the classroom experience of teaching construction management. Prior to joining the faculty at Purdue University, Dr. Dib worked on management of commercial construction for major construction management companies. Research Areas: • (BIM) Building Information Modeling, Building Information Management • Application of Object-Oriented-Modeling to life cycle project management • Knowledge Management • Construction Project Delivery • Collaborative Communication • Construction Visualization • Artificial Intelligence/knowledge-Based Systems • Effect of Technology/Computer on Productivity and Human Factor • Construction Management, Maintenance and Safety • Sustainability in the context of (BIM) Building Information Modeling 1- Adamo-Villani, N., Dib, H.
