Biography:

Rodney Vandeveer is a professor in the College of Technology at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Professor Vandeveer brings to his teaching and training 30 years of industrial experience working as a Plant Manager, Manager of Labor Studies, Operations Manger, Director of Human Resources, and Director of Operations with such companies as Allen Bradley, RCA, and Rostone Corporation. In the Technology Leadership and Innovation Department  he teaches in the Organizational Leadership program such courses as Human Behavior in Organizations, Leadership Strategies for Quality and Productivity, and Emerging World-class Leadership Strategies. He has his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Masters of Science degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Professor Vandeveer is a member of the International Society for Explorations in Teaching and Learning (ISETL) and the Southwest Case Research Association (SWCRA).  He is a co-author of Human Behavior in Organizations published by Prentice Hall now in its third edition.  Professor Vandeveer is an established member of Toastermasters International, a member of the Executive Board for the Sagamore Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and a member of American Society for Quality (ASQ).  Professor Vandeveer has become an established speaker and is part of the Purdue Speakers Bureau.  He has consulted in the areas of leadership, supervisory training and lean manufacturing process with such companies as Medtronic, Society of Broadcast Engineers, Cook Biotech, Mitsubishi Corporation, Fairfield Manufacturing, and National Tank Truck Carriers. Professor Vandeveer also works with the Technical Assistance Programs at Purdue University. His research interests are in emerging leadership strategies for effective leadership and human behavior in organization issues.
