Purdue University History

Founded in 1869 and named after benefactor John Purdue, Purdue University began its journey with six instructors, 39 students and a mission to provide agriculture and mechanic arts education.

College of Technology History

Purdue University College of Technology, one of the nation's largest and most renowned technology school, resides in ten Indiana communities in addition to the West Lafayette campus.

Purdue University College of Technology is globally recognized as one of the premier schools of technology offering world-class instruction, cutting edge research, and state-of-the-art facilities.

In 2004, the college celebrated its 40th Anniversary by paying tribute to the past and moving forward in its tradition of excellence to an even higher level - preeminence.
