The ergonomic lab is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary facility for learning, applied research, and technology development directed toward the understanding of the nature of human performance while interacting with complex and simple technology-driven systems. The ergonomic lab includes physiological monitoring equipment as well as human performance measurement equipment such as:
- Human strength recording devices
- Devices for measuring heart rate
- 8 channels EMG system
- Learning and motor skills evaluation devices
- Biofeedback devices
- Equipment for research in eye movement studies
- Multimedia: computers, video, and audio devices
It focuses on human-system interface, human factors in aviation and transportation, human factors in healthcare and manufacturing applications in the following areas:
- Ergonomic job process improvement
- Occupational hazards analysis
- Human machine interfaces
- Human workload analysis
- Office Ergonomics
- Work station design and analysis
