Student Research Internships in Switzerland
Project Status:
Two research interns from Purdue worked at HTA Lucerne in June, 2005. The technical work focused on evaluating wheel-type energy recovery systems for commercial air handlers, but there was also time for sightseeing in Central Switzerland. After a call-out and interviews, two new students will be selected in September 2005 for participation during the 2005-2006 school year.
General Information:
The Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) Department at Purdue University is partnering with HTA Lucerne, an excellent technical school located in Horw, Switzerland. HTA Lucerne is particularly well-known for its HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) Engineering program. Funding from the National Science Foundation is allowing Purdue MET students to work on applied research projects at HTA Lucerne during the summer. The primary focus is on HVAC and related energy fields.
