Biography:

Professor Hutzel is pursuing a program of applied research to promote sustainable buildings. He is particularly interested in using building automation systems to help maintain a balance between energy efficiency and human comfort in modern commercial buildings. He is also investigating solar energy (both photovoltaic and solar heating) as a supplement to traditional fossil fuel energy sources.
