Biography:

Professor Kostek has been teaching at Purdue University since 1986.  He teaches several manufacturing Engineering Technology (MfgET) courses for the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) department.

His current courses include:

CIMT 243, Automated Manufacturing IProgrammable LogicController (PLC) fundamentals, programming, and system design.  

 

CIMT 248, Automated ManufacturingIIIIndustrial robot programming, end-of-arm tooling, sensors, and safety.  General motion control includingstepper motors, servo motors, and position sensors.  

 

CIMT 374, Manufacturing Integration IManufacturingsystems integration using data communications and local area networks.  Shop floor communications between PCs,PLCs, robots, machine tools, and Auto ID equipment.  

 

CIMT 474, Manufacturing Integration IISensors, signalconditioning, PC and PLC-based data acquisition systems, Human MachineInterfaces (HMI), and introduction to closed loop control systems.

 

His areas of interest include: Automation,manufacturing systems integration, programmable logic Controllers (PLCs),sensors, robotics, and industrial networks.
