HOMEWORK
Each

Assignments that count as HOMEWORK are denoted on your class schedule by the
bold letters HW. Late
homework will result in a 2-point
deduction per calendar day late from the student’s available point total to
a minimum of zero on that assignment. For example, if the assignment is due on
Tuesday and the student turns it in on Thursday, that is two days late and will
result in a deduction of 4 points from the student total.
MOCK INTERVIEW 50
Points
Each student will be required to
perform a mock interview. For the formal Mock Interview, the student will be
randomly matched with a professional person from the area who will conduct a
one half hour general job interview and give immediate feedback to the student.
The interviewer will assign points.
Students will sign up for their interviews in class on a first come
first served basis at a designated time during the semester. After initially
signing up, each student is responsible for that time slot. If you need to change it, YOU are responsible
for arranging that. Missed interviews result in a score of 0. Expected dress is business formal. (40

Each student will be given an evaluation
sheet to take to the interview. Each
student is also required to bring a videotape to the interview so that s/he can

ATTENDANCE
In the world of work, members are
expected to be at work and on time EVERY DAY.
This class will encourage this practice.
We will follow a no fault policy.
You are here or you are not. There are no excused absences. ROLE WILL BE TAKEN AT ALL CLASSES. Whether
you attend or not, every written assignment is due on the designated day,
without exception.
If you
attend each and every class (i.e. do not miss a class), you will have earned a
five (5) point bonus. There is only
ONE way to earn this bonus and that IS TO ATTEND EVERY
CLASS! These are the only bonus points that will be
awarded in this class. Absences will be
treated as follows:
0 Misses +5 4 Misses -20
1Misses 0 5 Misses -35
2 Misses -3 6 Misses -55
3 Misses -8 7 Misses -80
Each miss
above seven will result in a 25 point deduction from the student’s total. Attendance will be taken at different times
during each class. If the student is not
there, this will count as an absence. 3 lates equal an absence.
ACADEMIC
HONESTY
The following statement will
be part of the procedures used in OLS 376.
It is consistent with the provisions of the Purdue University Bill of
Student Rights (as proposed by the Board of Trustees,
"As
members of the academic community, our foremost interest should be toward our
education and our foremost responsibility is to maintain academic honesty. A student who assists in any form of
dishonesty is equally as guilty as the student who accepts such
assistance."
Specifically: Assignments are to be written by the
individual student. Collaboration in the
form of assignment discussion between or among students is acceptable but each
student should write up his/her own assignments for submission and completion
of the assignments.
Dishonesty in attendance reporting
or plagiarism of assignments will be considered a major violation of the
Student Code of Honor. Either could
result in failure of OSL 364 and possibly expulsion from the university.
Students involved in any form of
academic dishonesty will be ineligible for future references by this
instructor.
