Sharon L Kraebber Ph.D.
Academic Advisor Biography:Sharon is a native of West Lafayette having lived the first 16 years and the last 20 years in this community. In between, she resided in Fayetteville, AR; Cedar Rapids, IA; and Memphis, TN. She is the second of a three generation family of Boilermakers. Sharon received a BS in Foods & Nutrition/Dietetics Purdue, a MS in Education from Memphis State University and a PhD in Career and Technical Education from Purdue. Sharon was Director of Office Services and Records Administration at Rockwell International/Collins Avionics in Iowa. She was Project Director and Registered Dietitian for the Metropolitan Interfaith Association Meals program where she supervised 80 employees and hundreds of volunteers as they provided congregate and home delivered meals to 4000+ senior citizens in a four county area of Tennessee. She was also the Registered Dietitian for the Memphis City Schools system. Upon return to West Lafayette, she served as Assistant Food Supervisor in the Purdue residence hall system and at the Indiana Veterans Home as Clinical Dietitian. She left that field to pursue her PhD while becoming tutoring coordinator for the College of Technology and Academic Advisor for the Departments of Computer Technology, Industrial Technology, and Organizational Leadership at Purdue.Her husband, Henry, is a faculty member in Department of Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Their son and his wife live in the West Lafayette area. Karl works for St. Elizabeth Health Systems in Quality Improvement. Erin is a Assistant Director of Promotions and Marketing for Purdue Athletics. Sharon is a Purdue sports fanatic, bleeding black and gold. Her family are avid Purdue sports fans often attending away games. Sharon and her husband lead a study abroad group of 15 Purdue students to Germany each Spring Break. Sharon believes she has found her calling in academic advising and loves working with the OLS students, faculty and staff.Bachelor of Science; Purdue University; 1973 |
