Registration for Core Training opens April 1, 2013
Frequently Asked Questions about Core Training:
Core Training is an intensive program intended to give you an overview of the PLTW course you will be teaching at your school. Class meets from 8AM to 5PM each day (no weekends), with an hour for lunch. Attendance is required at all sessions. During the training, participants complete a portfolio in order to be certified to teach the course.
First, your school must be a PLTW school. If your school has not registered as a PLTW school, please go to http://www.pltw.org/getting-started/getting-started to submit the online registration form.
The teacher's School Administrator (SA) must register that teacher with PLTW online before the teacher can sign up for Core Training. If you do not know your school administrator, use the School Locator to search for yout school. Your SA's contact information will be included with your school's listing.
Registration for this summer’s Core Training opens April 1st.

The Readiness Modules are specific for the courses that a teacher has registered for in Core Training. They are designed to prepare teachers for their training. We encourage teachers to review the detailed outlines of each program. These can be requested online for each curricular program on the Our Programs page of the PLTW website. These are required to be completed prior to attending Core Training.
You should bring a laptop, a scientific calculator, a USB memory stick, and a 10-15 foot Ethernet cable. An external mouse for your laptop is highly suggested. The instructor(s) for your class may contact you prior to training about specific needs for your class.
You are required to bring a laptop to Core Training. You must have administrative privileges, on this laptop so that you may add both hardware and software. For the current minimum laptop specifications visit the PLTW website at:
http://www.pltw.org/sites/default/files/Appendix_C_Computer_Specs_2013.pdf
These specifications are a minimum – for new purchases it is recommended that you buy as fast a machine with as much memory as possible to prevent obsolescence in the near future.
