<p class="FORMAT-BODY">Employers can register online for the 12th annual High Tech Job Fair for Indiana Companies at <a href="http://www.purdue.edu/jobfair">http://www.purdue.edu/jobfair</a>. The event, offered by Purdue's Technical Assistance Program for in-state jobs only, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Purdue Memorial Union ballrooms.</p>]]></description></item><item><guid>http://www.tech.purdue.edu/News_and_Events/news/News_Article/?id=6501</guid><pubDate>Tue, 15 Sep 2009 10:09:39 EDT</pubDate><title>CIT professor part of national earthquake engineering network</title><link><![CDATA[https://www.tech.purdue.edu/News_and_Events/Stories/?ID=140]]></link><description><![CDATA[<p>Thomas Hacker, assistant professor of computer and
information technology (CIT), is a co-principal investigator for a grant that funds a
national earthquake engineering network. The $105 million National Science Foundation grant is the
largest in Purdue University&rsquo;s history. It establishes a center at Purdue for
the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) to connect 14
research and equipment laboratories and the earthquake engineering community
through groundbreaking cyberinfrastructure, education and outreach
efforts. Purdue's center is expected to commence operations on October 1.</p>

Chapman Award winner by the <a href="http://www.justiceawards.com">Foundation for Improvement of Justice Inc</a>.</p>
<p>The foundation is recognizing Rogers &ldquo;for the numerous contributions he has made toward enabling federal, state and local law enforcement to better address today&rsquo;s challenges with the use of cyberforensics.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Rogers has designed and led training programs for and continuously provides assistance to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Our nation&rsquo;s ability to fight computer crime has been positively enhanced by the significant contribution Dr. Marcus Rogers has made through his development of programs, teachings, and continuous personal involvement in multiple investigative processes.,&rdquo; says MaLisa McOmber, executive director of the foundation.</p>
<p>Rogers is one of six individuals and organizations who will be honored at a September 26 ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia. The honor comes with a $10,000 award.</p>
<p>The Foundation for Improvement of Justice Inc. is a private, not-for-profit institution founded in 1985 for the purpose of improving local, state, and federal systems of justice within the United States. <p class="FORMAT-BODY">The Yellow Ribbon Program, which is an enhancement of the Post 9/11 GI Bill, will be available Aug. 1. The program lowers tuition costs that would not be fully covered by the GI Bill. Assistance will be awarded to the first 50 Purdue undergraduate, graduate or professional students who qualify.
