Registration

Continuing Students

DON’T WAIT --- REGISTER EARLY!

Early registration is encouraged for the following reasons:

  1. Helps to ensure that students get into the courses they want and not get closed out.
  2. Prevents courses from being cancelled due to low enrollment.
  3. Expedites financial aid disbursement.
  4. Eliminates late fee charges.

NOTE: if you are NOT a current registered student you cannot register until open registration and must make an appointment to meet with Lori Butchko for advising.

Registration Process

*Make an appointment to see Lori Butchko.

*All students MUST check service indicators (self-service in www.onestart.iu.edu) and holds in myPurdue PRIOR TO REGISTERING to make sure there are no holds on their record.

*Obtain registration appointment time by going into www.onestart.iu.edu under self-service. *Registration Appointment - the day and time you are assigned by the IU system to go into OneStart and register for classes. This is NOT the date you are assigned for academic advising.

*Students can register for classes online via OneStart during their registration appointment time or anytime after. Please check OneStart and/or the IUSB Registrar’s Office home page (www.iusb.edu) to get accurate information.

Forget your passphrase for OneStart?

No personnel at Purdue or IUSB are able to provide you with your passphrase. This is for security purposes. If you have forgotten your password you may have your password reset by going to one of the following places:

1. IT Helpdesk in 1245 Wiekamp Hall on the IUSB campus.

2. Student One Stop Center located in the Administration Building on the IUSB campus.

HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERING FOR A COURSE?

The IU system DOES NOT keep track of the courses Purdue students have taken. Therefore the system does not know if a prerequisite requirement has been met. If a student gets an error saying that they do not have the prerequisite course they will have to see Lori Butchko to get permission to add the course. Typical courses in which students have problems are:

  • Math courses
  • English
  • Physics
  • Upper level speech
  • Business courses
  • CSCI

If you know which courses you need to take you can get permission prior to your registration date. Getting permission DOES NOT guarantee a seat in the class.

COURSE INFORMATION

Course booklets will NOT be printed. Information is available online via OneStart.

*Please be aware that course information is subject to change.

GRADUATING

Do not forget to register for CAND 991. This is a zero credit hour course that flags the system so your record can be audited for completion of degree requirements.
