Financial Aid
Things to Remember:
-
If you intend to use financial aid to help pay for your college expenses, make sure you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 EVERY YEAR . This can be done by obtaining the FAFSA form from your location coordinator or their staff members OR accessing the form via the web ( www.fafsa.ed.gov ).
-
When completing the FAFSA form each year, make sure to use Purdue University's school code, 001825 , so Purdue University can receive your financial information.
-
Make sure to complete all documentation and information as requested from the Financial Aid department in a timely fashion. If this information is not completed in a timely fashion, you will reduce the chance of receiving all the financial aid for which you may be eligible.
-
If you are using financial aid to pay your Technology Statewide tuition/fees, make sure to meet with your Technology Statewide location's coordinator to receive a deferment for your fees each semester . This deferment lets your host school know you will be using some sort of financial aid to pay your fees. All locations but Lafayette use deferments in this fashion.
-
If you would like to use automatic deposit to receive the remainder of your financial aid, contact the location coordinator and complete the Student Boilermaker Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement. Once completed, this form is then returned to the address indicated on the form.
How your remaining financial aid gets disbursed to you:
-
You register for Technology Statewide classes with your location coordinator during early registration. That early registration is then sent to Purdue main campus where it is MANUALLY loaded into our Registration system.
-
Your early registration is then sent on to Purdue University's Bursar Office where it is MANUALLY loaded into that system.
-
If the hours in the Registration system match the hours you are billed for in the Bursar's system and they match the hours you indicated on your Technology Statewide information for the Division of Financial Aid office, you should have your remaining financial aid the first week or two of classes.
Going through early registration at the location increases the odds of getting your remaining financial aid early!
