Changing Your Domain Password
Windows 2000/XP Laptop

Laptop users have two user accounts. One is a local account which is used to login to your laptop and the other is a domain account which is used to login to your office/lab machine. As long as both account passwords are the same, you will not be prompted for your password with each network drive you connect (the “Connect Network Drives” script). You can change your local account password by following steps 1-4 below and then change your domain password by logging into a lab machine and doing the same steps there. You can also change both your local and domain passwords from your laptop (recommended).

  1. To complete all steps, your laptop must be connected to the network.
  2. Login to Windows, press Ctrl+Alt+ Del , and click on the “Change Password” button.
